What to expect

A wonderful way to reuse the family heirloom! If you have the idea to wear your your mother, future mother-in-law, or even your grandmothers old vintage wedding gown as your own, here is where we can start on the dream! This booking is to fit the gown to be worn again, either with the original design preserved, or revamped to be a more modern silhouette with the existing fabric and lace. Whether it will be your ceremony gown, reception dress, rehearsal dress, or even planning to wear it for an engagement shoot, you are in the right place! There are a few things to keep in mind – - I recommend requesting this appointment 3-4 months before the event. If the vintage gown was preserved in a box, please remove from the existing protections and bring the gown on a hanger in a garment bag. - If needed, please have the gown dry cleaned or spot cleaned before the appointment. If it was properly preserved, this most likely won’t be a necessary step. Don’t worry if little repairs need to be done – if the dry cleaners don’t catch them, I am more than happy to take a look. - Please bring the correct shoes and undergarments to the appointment! - On top of these vintage gowns needing lots of extra care and attention, vintage construction differs quite a lot from modern gowns. This means there is a small chance your ideas for reconstruction may not be viable. Please come with an open mind, and we will discuss all possibilities at length together in person!
